The Belfort International Film Festival was created in 1986 by Janine Bazin to promote young cinema (first, second or third film). Each year, Catherine Bizern, the artistic director, Amélie Dubois and Jérôme Momcilovic make their choice among a thousand films more or less. The official competition is the result of this worlwide films selection, short or long length, fictions or documentaries : a certain reflection of young cinema, full of invention and also hesitation, but always in search for new frontiers.
