A great year for the international competition, which presented, among others, Octobre, the second short film of Abderrahmane Sissako (Grand Prix Best Short film), Travolta et moi by Patricia Mazuy (Grand Prix Best Feature film and Gérard Frot-Coutaz Award), Nulle part, the first mid lenght film of Laetitia Masson.
But also, Double Blind by the French visual and conceptual artist Sophie Calle ; Boatman, the first film of the Italian documentarist Gianfranco Rosi or moreover Bernard ou les apparitions, the second short film by Arnaud Larrieu, directed without his brother.
The international competition also presented this year the films of: Jean-Pierre Améris (Le bateau de mariage), Hervé Le Roux (Grand bonheur), Dominik Moll (Intimité), Tshiyuki Mizutani (Le Secret de la famille) and Caroline Champetier (Le Sommeil d'Adrien).
Beau temps mais orageux en fin de journée, Gérard Frot-Coutaz's last film, is presented for the closing night of the festival and on this occasion, the Gérard Frot-Coutaz Award is created and will be given by the familly of the filmmaker for 10 years.
The festival pays a tribute to Jean Cocteau : an exhibition at the Museum of Belfort is organized and the 6 films of the poet filmmaker are shown at Entrevues.
