Hervé Joubert-Laurencin teaches cinema at the University Paris 7-Paris Diderot. He is a specialist of André Bazin and Pier Paolo Pasolini. His researches focus on the theory and history of film critic. In 2018, he co-directs Bazin, roman with Marianne Dautray and publishes the complete works of the famous film critic (Macula ed.).
