La Transverale - Among Friends

Mates, soulmates, or frenemies - whether girls or boys, in bands, twos or threes, brothers or rivals, childhood or long-lost friends -, Friendship in films questions collectivity, the evolution of ideals and the ambivalence of feelings.

La Transversale seeks to define this peculiar bond, delving into the history of cinema, and the many imaginary friends that help us illuminate our own lives.

― Films by Ernst Lubitsch, Douglas Sirk, Elain May, Agnès Varda, Abbas Kiarostami, Eric Rohmer, Kelly Reichardt, Alain Cavalier.
― A live-music screening of Buster Keaton's Go West, performed by local pianist Vladimir Sekula.
