The young boy Benjamín is having trouble adapting to his job: building wire fences. He has been waiting for days for his Mennonite boss to show up again. The other workers,César and Genaro starts to feel that the forest in the Paraguayan region of Chaco is getting sparse as past problems begin to resurface.

Summer holidays in Corsica. City-dwellers meet up with those who have never left the village. But despite the sunshine and the laughter, summer does not heal all wounds.

Labidi, a young writer living from hand to mouth, is trying to publish his first novel, after relative success with a short story. Between two food deliveries and as he’s sharing a bedsit with his best friend Aleksey, he meets Elisa, a student. Spurred by passionate love, he attempts to rent a flat that they absolutely cannot afford. Labidi then struggles with a materialistic society at the expense of his writing aspirations.

PRECIOSA Y EL AIRE by Dominique Abel

Preciosa y el Aire is a story about an unfinished film and its two characters’ aborted journey: a gypsy, Luis, and a young girl, Candela. It is also the reunion, ten years later, of its two actors - Luis and and Carmen - as they revisit this mind-boggling journey through time and pictures.

The international competition is open to :

  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd feature films (60 minutes and over)
  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd short and medium length films (less than 60 minutes)
  • without distinction of genre : fiction, essay, animation and documentary of creation (films produced for television - shows, television magazines, news coverage - are not eligible)
  • completed after the 1st of September 2021 and having not been commercially released in France (except for short films, which may have been broadcasted on local or specialty channel, exclusively).

Submissions are open until July 31st, 2022.
The decisions of the selection committee will be given y email mid-October, 2022.
