Mainly known as an actor, the list of filmmakers he worked with is impressive: André Téchiné, François Ozon, Claire Denis, Arnaud Desplechin, Bertrand Bonello, Paul Vecchiali. Jacques Nolot has also directed a short film, Manège, selected at Entrevues in 1986 and three feature films that capture his intrepid attitude as author and viveur: an autobiographically inspired trilogy that was to emerge from Hinterland (L'Arrière pays) with Glowing Eyes (La Chatte à deux têtes) and Before I Forget (Avant que j'oublie) as respectively second and third parts.
