Mofe and Rosa are getting by and, although they don’t know each other, they share the same dream: leaving Nigeria for a better life. Mofe, who’s lost his family, struggles to get a visa to Spain; Rosa, who has to help her pregnant sister, aims for Italy. However, their fate will force them to reconsider their future in Lagos.
Arie and Chuko Esiri were born 30 minutes apart in Warri, Nigeria. They grew up in Lagos but went to United-States to study cinema : Arie graduated from Columbia University and Chuko from NYU. They have made two shorts together: Goose (2015) and Besida which premiered at the 68th Berlinale in 2016. Eyimofe is their first feature film.
