Fabien, a fallen 90's TV star, wants to go to Paris, but his failing memory is turning the journey into a long obstacle course, until a young and romantic soldier decides to help him out.
Dans ce road-trip étrange, les gens se retrouvent par hasard, les formes se répètent. Le film avance à tâtons, comme dans un rêve. En cela, il ressemble au personnage principal, un garçon lunaire qui a perdu le goût et dont la mémoire disparaît par intermittence. La beauté du film est de transformer ces handicaps en moteurs comiques et dramatiques. En dépit de son apparence légère, Bêtes Blondes raconte aussi l’absence et la difficulté d’exister. C’est surtout un film puissamment libérateur, qui ose tout : l’absurde, le gore et même le « mauvais goût ». Dans un cinéma français souvent étouffé par un humour pesant et un réalisme sans saveur, cette comédie intelligente et fantaisiste fait figure d’exception. (Chloé Cavillier)

Alexia Walther has graduated from the ESAV in Toulouse. She is a writer and works between Geneva and Paris. Maxime Matray studied at the Villa Arson in Nice. They first began working together with the short film Twist, which won the Grand Prix in Belfort in 2006. Since then, they have directed several films together, such as Malfaisant in 2013.
